Bump Update: 34 weeks

Since I am late on take a picture at 34 weeks and am technically 34.5 weeks I thought I would do something a little different. On the same day at the same time you can see the difference of when I stand straight forward and when I turn. It's pretty obvious when I turn, especially when peanut is in a weird position and there's a big bulge.

How Far Along: 34 1/2 weeks
Total Weight Gain/Loss: +22lbs (from Drs apt 2 weeks ago), I feel like a cow
Maternity Clothes: All of my clothes and they still surprisingly all fit
Stretch Marks: Yes, let's not talk about it.
Best Moment this week: NESTING!!!
Miss Anything: sushi and good sleep
Movement: Oh yeah! I feel like my whole belly is moving when it does happen.
Sleep: nothing is comfortable.
Food: Loving fruit and anything cold
Anything Making you Queasy or Sick: Meat again and too much bread (like on a sand which)
Have you started to show: yup, see above picture
Gender predictions: I am still saying girl at this time. Check out the gender predictions wives tales post here that I did
I still like hearing people predictions but at this time its still about 50/50
Labor Signs: No, not yet but it's getting there
Belly Button In or Out: Innie
Wedding ring on or off: On
Happy or Moody: Mostly happy
Looking forward: Just holding the little bean and for the whole thing to be over. I can see why people get depressed because your on a high for so long and than it's over and it's hard. The feelings I am having now are very similar to my wedding

Gender predictions

I thought it would be fun to fill out some old wives tales for gender predictions
A picture of me at 34 1/2 weeks

I don't know what we are having, but my guess is still a girl
I am still getting 50/50 people guessing each

Well, that was fun and surprising since it was split down the middle.
I do crave sweet, spicy and sour things, but not so much on the salty.
I sleep on both of my sides pretty evenly.
I feel like the baby has been laying down low and transverse most of the pregnancy until recently

What do you think? Did you do this? Was it correct?

Ol' bloggo update

As you can see the ol' bloggo got a much needed update.
( I love it.)

If you haven't noticed I also updated the house tour button to include before and afters of our old house in Illinois and our new apartment in LA.

Of course, they both are a work in progress and need to be updated.

What do you think?

Missing Illinois

Not in a million years did I think I would be saying that, but today was the day.
As I drove to work with the gloomy skies and as the hopes of a thunderstorm lurk in the future,
I miss the warm days and loud thunder during the summer time.
Street festivals and the defening sounds of the cicaidas.

I think, what I miss the most is my on going art project of a house.
Being able to paint walls and decorate however I please.
Having room to store all of our stuff and still having space to do my own thing.

As I get older, I find that whereever we are there is something that you fall in love with.
I left my heart in Chicago over 5 years ago and although I only lived there less than 6 months.
I miss it and there has nothing in comparrison.

Although, california is where I grew up and where I currently reside I wouldn't be human if I still reflect on other places I have been and seen.

Summer Handmade Gift Exchange

So, its been awhile since I entered in a gift exchange and was hoping that would get my creative juices flowing. Well, it did to an extent. It took me the whole month prior to think of something to make for my partner who has a baby on the way and a toddler.

This is what I came up with..
I wanted to make something for everyone and they live in colorado which made the decision a little easier. I know its summer, but winter things can be so cute.

For little brother.. two little beanies.
One simple teal and grey and the other is a little bear

For big brother.. an owl beanie

and for mama.. two headbands

Bump Update: 33 weeks

We are getting closer to the finish line, it's pretty awsome. We just finished up our birthing class this week and P says he is now ready, but I am not so sure about that one.

How Far Along: 33 weeks

Total Weight Gain/Loss: +22lbs (from Drs apt last week), I feel like a cow
Maternity Clothes: All of my clothes and I feel like I have nothing to wear
Stretch Marks: Yes, let's not talk about it.
Best Moment this week: Spending extra time with P and getting things planned out with the doula.. it's all starting to feel real. Also, nesting.. that's super real too.
Miss Anything: nope
Movement: Oh yeah! I feel like my whole belly is moving when it does happen.
Sleep: nothing is comfortable. P has been pretty great about trying to snuggle and get me comfortable, but its not working. I have also developed sciatica back pain which is absolutely no fun.
Food: Loving fruit, maybe too much. Back on the meat train.
Anything Making you Queasy or Sick: Not really
Have you started to show: yup, patients now ask me about it.

Gender predictions: I am still saying girl at this time.
I still like hearing people predictions but at this time its still about 50/50
Labor Signs: No, I hope not. I did feel my first Braxton Hicks, but haven't felt any since than.
Belly Button In or Out: Innie
Wedding ring on or off: On
Happy or Moody: Mostly happy, but I can get very emotional very fast. I wouldn't say moody, but P might disagree

Looking forward: Just holding the little bean. The whole process.

Oh and a sigh of relief.. I didn't pass my 1 hr glucose test with a 153 and so I had to take the 3 hour test and it was the most awful thing. Luckily I passed with flying colors, but I was so nauseous from that stuff it was unreal.

Bump update: 31 weeks

Woo hoo! closing in on the 8th month.. This week is all about reality and how carrying a baby is a pretty awsome thing. It's also a reminder sometimes that when your body says you need to slow down, you need to listen. I unfortunately think, I took my last flight last week until baby is born.

How Far Along: 31 weeks

Total Weight Gain/Loss: +15lbs (from Drs apt 3weeks ago)
Maternity Clothes: All of my clothes
Stretch Marks: Yes, let's not talk about it.
Best Moment this week: Starting to think this thing is real and this baby is going to come out of me at some point.
Miss Anything: nope
Movement: Oh yeah! I got to see the baby move all the time. I also feel like my whole belly is moving when it does happen.
Sleep: nothing is comfortable. P has been pretty great about trying to snuggle and get me comfortable but its not working.
Food: Loving fruit, maybe too much
Anything Making you Queasy or Sick: Right now I am having aversions to chocolate and red meat. Just the thought of them makes me queasy, so that means I don't need them right now?!
Have you started to show: very much so

Gender predictions: I am still saying girl at this time. I still like hearing people predictions but at this time its still about 50/50
Labor Signs: No, I hope not.
Belly Button In or Out: Innie, still sore on top.
Wedding ring on or off: on but occasionally I have to move it to my ring finger ( I wear it on my middle finger because its big)
Happy or Moody: Mostly happy, but I can get very emotional very fast. I wouldn't say moody, but P might disagree

Looking forward: Just holding the little bean. Oh and we have decided to get a doula for the birthing process. I am pretty excited about it.

I don't know where else to put this, but I have to share..

I don't want you to think that this is all rainbows and unicorns because it's not.
I hate that my feet get swollen (bp is ok) and my back hurts (I have chronic back pain, but this is different) all the time and peeing all the time, but in reality thats not much to complain about when it could be 10x worse.
I feel like an old lady, I have to wear compression socks when I go to work and a belly/back support but these are the things that make me feel better.
