Oh, Martha!

Sorry that I have been MIA guys. Well, i am back with a week full of posts of course,
 cause thats how I roll.

Heres to mini monday makeover.
Well, I got the bug to get organized. Our kitchen cabinets are wonky and nothing is of stand size or width.
This is how the baking cabinets looked before:

I know what your thinking, its not that bad.
OH YES, yes it is.
Theere are boxes of tea up in that right hand corner that are over two years expired and I really don't know how far they go back (thanks Starbucks). The top left had several opened bags of things that needed a home. The bottom right had misc. ingredients and were hard to find.

And the after:
With the help of some extra containers and some patience I came up with this

Much better. And the break down..

The inside of the tea basket, all organized

I also decided to tackle our tupperware cabinet

I moved all of the storage containers to another shelf that i could reach and have easier access to. I bought the wire basket from Lowe's for $5.99 (and I love it)

So there you have it my mini monday kitchen organization makeover.
Have you organized anything lately?

The "Red" Queen

This weekend we traveled roughly 4 hours to Evansville, Indiana for a roller derby bout
Our travel team was playing in their first WFTDA bout (the big time)

Look a theme.. yes yes.
We got dressed up

P was the madd hatter and I was the red queen

Inspiration

My version
I took an existing corset added gold sequins trim, made a red skirt with elastic and added the gold hearts than took 24 yards of tulle and made a tutu using ribbon, made the septor from a dowel rod and wire and painted it gold

part of the half time show using mop buckets

P getting his golden number at the after party

The lovely smashmouth

First coat ( I used behr 2 in 1 paint and primer)

Second coat

New harware

Bought a 0.70$ old pencil sharpener for the hand towel holder

Made a roman shade out of the previous dingy blinds

Worked on a canvas (its not done yet)

With everything in place including the cat

pant and supplies: $20
fabric: $4

Bathroom mini-makeover Monday

I am writing this on a Monday.. does that still count?
I think so.. This is day 3 and project 3 &4 of 10.. woot.
Yup a double header..

Project one: organization
I had a problem with organization in our bathroom cabinets

We are limited in our bathroom organization and P is a minimalist so that means nothing can be out in the open

The top shelf has a door and the bottom self is out in the open

I found this metal container at tj max and sprayed it with some ORB

and another look at it.. love it

Project two: towel holder

This is the back of the door and if you look closely you can see where the bar use to hang .. ugh

I needed a change

I found these hook at hobby lobby for 50% and fell in love

a place to hang my robe and my towel.. score.
My robe has been hanging in my closet it is awsome having it the bathroom finally

Any mini makeovers recently?

This Post will be linking up this week.. for a list see above

Mini make-over Monday

Well, i must say that I had bigger plans this weekend that just didn't happen.

You ask: What did happen?
Me: I am crazy..

It started with this place

the closest IKEA is 2.5 hours away.
I woke up on Saturday at 715am and told P that I was going to IKEA,
he said your crazy and got ready for work.

I found a friend who was awake and off we went
Later I found out that she had never been.
Well when I lived in LA I use to go with my mom almost every weekend,
crazy I know.

Well I found a lot of loot that made mini make-over monday possible.

The kitchen "Nook"

placemats $3.99 each

chair cushions for $6.99

I bought this lamp for $16.99

Napkins $1.99

All this for $44

Pretty awsome, I thought so.

Some things to change:
1. The cord of the lamp has to go
2. the table and chairs need to be painted
3. The whole kitchen needs to be re-painted.
(we painted it before we knew the beauties of pre-painting procedures)

Any mini make-overs out there?

I'm linking up this post this week.
