Mini vacation: Day one

So from the weekend wrap up of pictures you saw some fancy pictures.. I took a mini vacation to Cincinati, Ohio, which is about 4 hours away. This is where P live during the week and the first time I went to him.

I drove to Hamilton Oh and than we went to Cincinatti for part one

We got dolled up and ate dinner

Than took a carriage ride

to the opera

atteh oldest opera company in the US! what a cool building.

We saw La Traviata and it was beautiful

Than we went to the fountain at the square. Please excuse the messed up face, sans jewlery and falling out hair.
I had laid down before P decided he wanted to get something to eat.

For the love of Derby

I have talked about derby quite a bit on here since Febuary.

It has encompassed my life outside of work and sometimes interferring with my love life with my husband. I have gone through many struggle emotionally, mentally and physically to keep going and to stay pumped about being on our local roller derby team.

On March 6th, I became a farmer

On May 17th I became a Rookie (ViceQuad)

I bouted

I have made life long friends

I have scrimmaged with my team
(this was the Vice Quads before our coming out scrimmage)

Well, as of yesterday 7/30/12
I have a new chapter to my Derby career
we (our league) had a draft of all Vice Quads and whomever wanted to be on a home team (we have 3 not including travel teams)
I got drafted to the 'Paign

This is what I wanted and I am so glad I could be on a team with such talented women and friends. My friend Ash (Smashmouth) got me into derby 2 years ago and now I get to play with her as a team mate.
I am still in shock, but oh so happy.

Go to: Best cheescake.. hands down

Cheesecake use to scare me, lets be honest its a little intimidating with its spiffy pan and weird cooling and ehating directions and tub of water.. yeah very complicated.. WELL ITS NOT!

For people that know me, know that I LOVE DESSERT.

(Not just a I like dessert and eat it every once in awhile and could do without, I NEED dessert and crave it daily, yeah I am that type of person)

I can not find the exact recipe I used, but this one is double what I did for the cake portion and crust is the same..

Below is my adjusted receipe:
2 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese
1 cups sugar
3 eggs
1 (16 ounce) containers sour cream
1 teaspoons vanilla

2 packages of crushed grahm crackers
2 teaspoons softened butter
2 teaspoons sugar

- Warm oven to 315 degrees.

- In a bowl mix grahmn crackers, butter and sugar together. In a greased (I used butter) spring form pan evenly place this mixture on the bottom and around the sides and place in the refrigerator to set while mixing the cake portion.
- Mix cream cheese until smooth. Add eggs one at a time. Once smooth add sugar and vanilla. Add sour cream last and mix until smooth. Do not over beat cream cheese it will get fluffy (you dont want fluffy)
- Put into cooled grahmn craker crust.
- I cooked mine for 55 minutes or until middle is no longer jiggly (side usually crack too).
- Let rest on cooling rack for 30-45, than place in refrigerator for 6 hours before serving.

(please excuse my horrible picture, my last slice got squished from the tupperware in my lunch.. oops. It lookedreally pretty before hand)

All done! That wasn't hard, now was it?

the incredible edible egg

In what seems like forever ago, I found how to make the best friend egg sandwhich on Pinterest

Here is the same article but on the Hufington Post instead
It goes through the qualities that makes the perfect egg sandwhich such as bread, how to fry your egg, and toppings to put on it, etc.

Well I took this in my hands and have been playing with it for a few months.
I think I have found it..

- Strawberry jam
- Bread (I prefer fresh from the bakey but its sometimes hard to find here) toasted
- Egg with cheddar cheese
- Alphapha sprouts
- Avocado

yum! What is your favorite egg sandwhich?

I cut around the lace and followed the flowers

I added an inch of elastic

sewn at the ends

and wa-la! I love the vintage look
What do you think? easy peasy.
Whats your pinspiration this week?
